Bob Stratton Bald

Bob Stratton Bald is a grassy meadow located off of the Cherohala skyway at an elevation of 5360 feet and offers views of the Unicoi mountain as well as the Joyce Kilmer Wilderness Area.

It is in the Nantahala National Forest and is named for a mountain man, Bob Bald who lived in the area in the late 1800s. It has some of the best views in this area of Great Smoky Mountains National Park to the north and the Slickrock Creek valley below.
