Hike - Lead Cove/Bote Mt./Finley Cane Trails - Wed., June 8, 2011

Depart at 8:00 am from the Cooper Visitors Center

Note: hike is changed from annual schedule

Lead Cove / Bote Mountain / Finley Cane Trails (1 hour 15 minute drive)
Distance: 7.1 miles
Elevation Gain: 1,250 feet
Rating: Easy

This is a circle hike beginning on Laurel Creek Road to Cades Cove. Hopefully, rhododendron will be in bloom. All of the uphill is covered in the first 1.8 miles of Lead Cove. The Bote Mountain trail then goes downhill for 2.5 miles to the junction with Finley Cane. Finally, Finley Cane returns 2.8 miles to the trailhead. Finley Cane is fairly level.

Hiking boots and hiking stick(s) are recommended for both hikes. Bring water and a trail lunch.
Driving Directions: To be provided the morning of the hikes.
Car-pooling is recommended and will be set up the morning of the hike. Passengers are asked to contribute $4 to the driver to help cover gas etc.
