Beech Gap to Cherry Log Gap
Distance: Approximately 5.0 miles (one way)

The trailhead is located at Beech Gap just before the North Carolina border. The trail is fairly flat and wide with the last 0.6 of a mile having the most elevation change. The main purpose of this hike is to enjoy the fall colors and views both from the Cherohala skyway and the trail.
Please keep in mind that weather conditions at these elevations can be more extreme than at lower elevations. Also, hiking boots and trekking sticks are suggested.
Driving Directions:
Drive to Tellico Plains on Highway 68 from Madisonville.
On the South side of town turn left onto highway 165, the Cherohala
Skyway. From that intersection drive 23.5 miles to Beech Gap.
The trailhead is the beginning of a blocked forest service road (# 95)
On your left you will see a big brown National forest sign the trailhead is
directly behind the sign. Parking is limited so please pull in all the way.
