Hike - House Mountain - Wed., Dec.5, 2012

House Mountain (1 hour 10 minute drive)
Distance: Approximately 4 miles
Elevation Gain: Approximately 1000 ft.

The steep slopes of House Mountain are heavily wooded and possess a unique combination of scenic views, rock outcrops, and a variety of bird and plant life.  The 2,100-foot crest of House Mountain provides significant vistas where visitors may scan the parallel ranges of the Unakas and Cumberlands some 30 miles away, or look northeast at the adjacent Clinch Mountain.

Hiking boots and hiking stick(s) are recommended.  Bring ample water and a trail lunch.  Car-pooling is recommended and will be set up the morning of the hike. Passengers are asked to contribute $5 to the driver to help cover gas etc.
