The White Oak Sinks trail is not an official Smoky Mountain Park trail but it is one of the most spectacular trails to hike at this time of year. Why? Because it is one of 3 or 4 of the best trails in the Park for viewing wildflowers. One can expect to see the floor of the Sinks covered with purple Phlox. It is also one of the few places in the Park where you will see Shooting Stars and Blue Bells. If the timing is correct we may also see Yellow Lady Slippers. A very exciting wildflower hike.  There is also a waterfall and the "Bat Cave" which has been cordoned off.
Hiking boots and hiking stick(s) are recommended.  Bring water and a trail lunch. We request that drivers are offered $5.00 for transportation.
