LAUREL FALLS (Bowater Pocket Wilderness)
Distance:  6 miles (7.2 with extension)

The trail starts at an abandoned coal mine area along Richland Creek providing multiple rapids and natural pools.  Some of the trails are formed of rock and some maneuvering over and under large rock areas are necessary.  The primary hike will end at Laurel Falls, a beautiful 80 foot waterfall.  The adventurous might consider a steep and strenuous extension of a mile or so for a view at the top of the plateau above the falls.
